Amen! Insurance should cover the conditions you don't have (but might) ... not the ones you do have. What we have now is technically NOT insurance ... it's a prepayment plan for health maintenance.

Spot on analysis. My friends at the Cato Inst and i have made this point repeatedly. Excessive reliance on insurancd is a huge driver of spending.
